Pop culture and comedy writer who can make copy pop, whatever the topic.
Who I write for
A sitcom I wrote recently aired on BBC Radio 4, and I write about culture (pop and otherwise) for outlets such as BBC America, the School of Life, National Theatre, and Literary Platform. I also write copy for clients such as Ark Schools, Sky, the BBC and DACS.
“Kat produced amazing results, turning difficult legal concepts into clear, snappy copy optimised for the web.”

What I write
I write comedy scripts for radio, TV and online. Recently I've written sketches and a radio sitcom called Charlotte & Lillian for BBC Radio 4. I've also got a TV script in development.
I love all aspects of pop culture, specifically TV, film and pop music, but also put my English degree to good use writing about books and theatre. In particular I'm fascinated by how pop culture fits into a wider context, from our relationships and technology to feminism and mental health.
I also write and edit copy for clients in the arts, charity and media sectors, specialising in clear, plain English however complicated or jargon-tastic the topic may seem.
What's the deal with blogs? Are we still doing them nowadays? I've updated mine very sporadically recently, but in the past I wrote weekly posts about the progress I was making on my book (until I didn't make much progress, that is), and used it like a commonplace book, adding quotes I came across or passages from books I liked.
